Chandelier Pillow Tutorial

My daughter actually made most of this pillow, I did the sewing even though she probably could have done that herself too! It was so easy and she loves her pillow - that's all that really matters!

Here are the supplies I used:

1. Pillow form
2. Soft Black fabric
3. Black Feathers
4. Fabric Paint
5. Stencil (I used my Circut to cut this out)

I cut out the fabric to the size of the pillow form.

 

Mackenzie used the Circut and cut out the template that she chose.

Since vynal is expensive (and I'm cheap) I went to the Dollar Store and bought some contact paper. It works the exact same! And the entire role was only $2....not too shabby!

I used Tulip's Soft fabric paint. It has held up really well, I would recommend it.

After the stencil was cut out we stuck it onto the fabric.

Mackenzie had to find all of the little pieces and match it all up.

  

Mackenzie filled in the stencil with the paint using a makeup sponge.

 

Let the paint dry.

 

Carefully peal the stencil off of the fabric.

 

 

 

Here's the finished paint job

  

After sewing the pillow together with the fabric, this is the final pillow!

Anthropologie inspired Shower Curtain

I love Anthropologie curtains and shower curtains! But there is NO WAY that I could ever afford the price tag....even if I could afford it-there is NO WAY that I ever would pay that much for a shower curtain.









Did I mention that this was made from a $2 sheet set from Walmart (I used a twin but wished I would have used a full)? The ruffles are just scraps of white cotton that I had laying around. I would do things a little different next time, but not bad for my first shot :)

Jewelry Mirror

I have a lot of jewelry. I hate having my necklaces out in the open so I made a secret hide-away for them without adding another piece of furniture in my room.



Material List:
1. full lenth mirror
2. 1x2s
3. board for the back of the mirror
4. hinges
5. hooks to hang necklaces
6. paint, screws, etc

Here's the mirror opened up. I'll add adhesive hooks to the back of the mirror when I run out of room inside (that'll be before I know it!)



Add a little vinyl design when you accidentally crack the mirror while screwing in the hinges.....



The board that I have for the back of the mirror is an old cupboard door that the mirror fit perfectly in. I added the 1x2 frame straight to the back of the board and painted it all white (distressed).



And the finished product....


It keeps all of my clutter hidden, but yet it's all still at my finger tips when I'm running late in the morning!

Ribbon Headband

I whipped up this headband late last night so I wasn't thinking about pictures in process, but it was really easy. I went to the dollar store and bought some plain headbands-I think there were 6 for $1. I had some ribbon left over from a different project and hot glued it to the headband. I had one spot where one pleat was wider than the others, so i glued on a few little "flowers". Although I just can't seem to master this flower making art! I tried to make about 7 or 8 different ones, about 7 or 8 different ways....this is the best I could come up with :)

Making A Life sign

Project #17/30

The Last sign project for today I promise. I'm just trying to get caught up on my postings for the month!

My mom scored about 20 door transoms from a really old house that was being torn down by some friends! I painted it black first....then changed my mind (that's why I love paint)...and painted white over it. I didn't even sand this one and it turned out really cool!

I used the good ol' Cricut and stuck the letters on the board. It's not exactly straight though - so don't look TOO hard! :)
